Our Vision
A world where service users* have the same rights and choices as everyone else.
*The term “service user” could also be consumer/survivor, Mad people, people with lived experience of mental health or addiction issues…We chose “service user” simply because it is the most commonly used term internationally.
Who We Are
The Empowerment Council is entirely run by, and accountable to, service users.
What We Do
The Empowerment Council’s work is driven by a network of service users who want to change services, practices, policies and laws for the better. Together, we advocate for meeting the needs of service users as service users identify them, equal rights, and the removal of systemic barriers and oppressive practices.
